Carreiro & Cª, Ldª., in 1982 with the multinational company Valentine Portugal, S.A., with French capital in majority, established the company VALENTINE AÇORES, Ldª. This company stayed with the representation and distribution in the Azores region of the products manufactured by Valentine Portugal, then leader in the national automobile repainting market.
By the need to complement the range of products, including sandpaper, masking paper, adhesive tape, etc.., we established a partnership with the leader in this sector INDASA-INDUSTRIA ABRASIVOS, SA, becoming distributor for the Azores.

We acquired the first cabin/greenhouse that appears in the Azores, in order to enable the application of acrylic paints, in this case VALROC in car repainting, which appears as a revolutionary system. That booth was intended not only to provide the indispensable training actions for painting professionals, with what is considered a new system, but also and at the same time make it available to our customers for their enamelling, which contributed decisively to our achievement. and market leadership.

At the beginning of this year, we bought the share that Valentine de Portugal, s.a., held in Valentine Açores (50%) of the capital, changing the company name to the current CARREIRO & FILHOS - Comércio e Industria de Tintas, Ldª., with the participation of Carreiro & Cª.,Ldª in partnership with the partners' three children. Meanwhile, a large German GROUP, Herberts, acquires Valentine Portugal and, because they are the owners of the European leader in the automotive sector, SPIES HECHER, there is a substantial increase in sales.

Acquisition of a property located at Rua do Mercado, 17 - 19, in Ponta Delgada, part of Solar dos Pacheco de Castro, in order to concentrate the group's companies as much as possible, in an area of 1,000 m2, with a view to rationalizing and optimizing existing physical and human resources.

Inauguration in September of the new premises in Rua do Mercado (in front of the Graça market), after a year of extensive restoration work with ample space for exhibition, sales, offices and storage, complemented with a significant improvement in working conditions for all the collaborators.
